HOA BAN FETIVAL  THE ANALYSIS OF THE BOARD Once upon a time, there were a beautiful girl called Ban and a young man called Khum. They fell in love but they can't come together. She was forced to get marriaded with a rich man. Therefore, she walked away and nobody couldn't find her. After a long time, she died and in place where she died, there was a new flower, the latter called Hoa Ban.THE MEANING OF THE HOA BAN FESTIVAL Hoa ban festival also known as Xien Nuong festival, is held by Thai people in Northwest on the second lunar month, when the flowers start to bloom.The festival expresses the respectful hearts of the people and commerating predecessor. Moreover, in the festival, the villagers always pray for the prosprerous Muong village,rain, wind year-round, good harvest and soon.   HOW TO JOIN THIS FESIVAL To join this festival, people bring gifts to Tham Le cave.The ceremony include a pig, some brandches of Ban flowers, wine bottles, two bottles of rice, some incenses and betelnut. Young men and women begin to enjoy the flower-picking festival with exciting unique shows. The bustling sound of the Khen drum and gong, Boys play trumpet, girls dance Tham Le dance-a dance delicated to picking flowers. The man also compete to climb up the tree and pick flowers of the tree has from 5-6 people climb up. Belon, girls took the Op (almost like a basket) to welcome flowers to drop down. Any guys who has an idea with a girl will drop it on her. The same goes for girls, she trues to take his flower to response.    SOME PROCEDURES IN THE FESTIVALThen the supreme deity in holy ranks according to Thai conception, worship "Lady Ban" _ a legendary female character representing, the chastily Thai young women, worship ghost to pray everything blooms, making happy couples and blessing the lives of the villages warmer, happier. The witch-doctor worshipped the god of cave and the forest god, praying for people to heve a warm and prosperous life. AND THE FESTIAL IN THE PRESENT When the festival ends, boys and girls break up to plow the field spring, start a new crop, a lucky and bumper crop. However nowadays, the space for the festival has shnink. Many forest have been cut down the serve to development their life and daily activeities. But the younger generation is less know and the festival isn't held continously every year.
