* Better Ss can talk about more causes and effects of pollution and ways to reduce them.

+/ Vocabulary: permanent, earplug, decibel, vacuum, headset

II. Teaching aids.

- Teacher: Auxiliary boards, computer, projector

- Students: Prepare the new words, practice pronouncing these words

- Ask 1-2 Ss to make some sentences to show cause/effect relationships.
3. New lesson:
* Warm up. (2’)
To introduce the new lesson
 - T and Ss talking about the kinds of pollutions.
* Pre-speaking:(8’)
 - Explain to Ss that they are going to read about some activities teenagers do in their free time.
- Give the newwords to Ss, and ask them the meaning of the newwords.
- Let them practice the newwords.
- To practice the newwords
- Have Ss read the questions in the questionaire to make sure they understand everything. Explain any unclear points. Then answer the questionaire individually. Remind them to circle their answers.
*While- speaking:(13’)
- Ss work in pairs to compare their answers and see if they have any diferent answers. They do not have to reach an agreement at this stage. Ask some pairs to report on their diferences.
- Play the recording for Ss to check their answers. Ss listen to the recording twice. If there are any incorrect answers, Ss correct them. Ask Ss if any of the answers has surprised them, and if so, why.
* Post-speaking:(10’)
- Ask Ss which of the eight questions in the questionaire proposes ways to prevent noise pollution. 
- Have Ss work in groups in five minutes to discuss more ways to reduce noise pollution. Ss write their answers on a big piece of paper and then present their answers. 
- Have Ss vote for the best ways.

- Learn by heart the new words, the ways to prevent the noise pollution.

1. Noise pollution is more common and more damaging than many people realise. The Green Organisation is doing a survey on how much teenagers know about this type of pollution. Help them answer the questions.
