+/ Skill : Reading, Speaking.
+/ Attitude: Protect the environment.
II. Teaching aids.
- Teacher: Auxiliary boards, computer, projector.
- Students: Prepare the new words , practice pronouncing these words.

Objectives. - By the end of this lesson, students will be able to : +/ Reading for general and specific information about water pollution. +/ Talking about causes and effects of water pollution as well as solutions to this problem. +/ Newwords: sewage, pesticide, herbicide, weed, dramatic, outbreak, cholera . * Better Ss talk about causes and effects of water pollution as well as solutions to this problem. +/ Skill : Reading, Speaking. +/ Attitude: Protect the environment. II. Teaching aids. - Teacher: Auxiliary boards, computer, projector. - Students: Prepare the new words , practice pronouncing these words. III. Procedures. Teacher’s and students’activities Contents 1. Organization: (1’) 2. Checking the old lesson: (5’) - Ask 1-2 Ss to give out some ways to prevent the noise pollution. 3. New lesson: A. READING: (21’) * Warm up- Pre-reading. - Have Ss do this activity in pairs. One student looks at the picture A on page 12 while the other looks at picture B on page 15. They ask each other Yes/ No questions to find out . the differences between the two pictures. What do the pictures tell you? * While –reading. - Ss quickly read the text and compare their guesses with the information from the text. - Then Ss go to the board and write the newwords on the board. - T checks the meaning of the newwords and pronunciation. - Ask Ss to read the pasage quickly and answer the questions. Tell Ss that the first two questions ask for general information while the rest focus on details. Ss can underline parts of the text that help them with the answers. Ss compare their answers before giving the answers to T. * Post - reading. - Remind Ss quickly of the way to do this type of exercise. Ss read the sentences quickly to underline the key words. - Have Ss read aloud their answers. Confirm the correct ones. B/ SPEAKING.( 15’) * Pre-speaking: - Devide Ss into small groups. - Ss work in groups of 4 students to discuss the solutions to water pollution. - T can suggest they make two sub-headings. - They can go through each cause in the presentation and think of the solutions. * While-speaking: - Guide the way to do. - Ss work in groups, T can go around the class and help the weak Ss. * Post- speaking: Make a presentation about water pollution based on the diagram. - Some Ss present before class. - Other Ss have some comments 5. Homework.(3’) - Do Ac 6 ( p.12- textbook) - Prepare the new lesson. Skills 2 A. READING 1. Work in pairs. One of you looks at picture A, and the other looks at picture B on page 15. Ask each other questions to find out the differences between your pictures. Key: Pic A: The ducks are white./ They are going to the lake./ There aren’t any factories near the lake./ The lake was clean. Pic B: The ducks are black./ They are going from the lake./ There are some factories near the lake./ The lake water is dirty/ black. 2. Mi and Nick have decided to give a presentation on water pollution to the class. Read what they have prepared and answer the questions. */ Newwords: - sewage | sjuɪdʒ | - pesticide | pe.stɪ.saɪd | - herbicide | hɜ.bɪ.saɪd | - weed | wid | - dramatic | drə.mæ.tɪk | - outbreak | aʊt.breɪk | - cholera | kɒ.lə.rə | 1. The second paragraph tells about the causes of water pollution. 2. The third paragraph tells about the effects of water pollution. 3. It’s the water beneath the Earth’s surface. ... 3. Read the text again and complete the notes about the effects of water pollution. Fill each blank with no more than three words. Key: 1. cholera 2. die 3. polluted water 4. dead 5. aquatic plants B/ SPEAKING. 5. Now complete the diagram of water pollution. Use the information from the text for the causes and effects and your group’s ideas for the sollutions.. ( The content at page 12) 6. Make a presentation about water pollution based on the diagram.
