- T asks Ss to give the names of festivals.
- Ss give the names of festivals.
- Teacher asks students some other questions: Have you ever seen these things? When?
(using real objects/pictures: Christmas Card,..)
What do you often do at Christmas?
Do you celebrate Christmas?
- Students answer the questions.
- Teacher leads students to the lesson:
To know about the origin of Christmas specials, let’s continue our lesson.
* Warm up 
Give the names of festivals that you have known.
2. Knowledge formation activities (36’)
- Teacher presents new words.
- Students repeat, read in individual and give the meanings.
- Teacher has students repeat all the new words again. Then teacher has one or two students read the words again (in individual).

Suggested: The Mid- Autumn festival 
The festival was held on 15th of August the school yard. The festival lasted 3 hours. There were many activities such as: singing and shouting, wearing masks, parading on the roads and banging the drums.
The children were interested in a special cake “Moon cakes”. Children went on playing traditional games until mid-night.
 This festival is a very special occasion for Vietnamese people and especially for children to play and enjoy on a variety of activities. Moreover, children would understand more about Vietnamese traditions.
