“ A project on pollution”
I. Objectives.
- By the end of this lesson, students will be able to :
+/ Pronounce the stress in words ending in |ic | and |ai| correctly in isolation and in context.
+/ Read the conversation between Mi and Nick then answer the questions.
* Better Ss can give out more pullutions and talk something about them
+/ New words: believe, poison, aquatic, bless, sneeze, illustrate
II.Teaching aids.
- Teacher: computer, projector.
- Students: Prepare the new words , practice pronouncing these words.

III. Procedure. Teacher’s and students’ activities Contents 1. Organization: (1’) 2. Checking the old lesson: ( Check Ss’ preparations) (2’) 3. New lesson: * Warm up.(2’) To introduce the new lesson. - Write the unit title on the board “ pollution”.and ask Ss something about pollution. * Activity 1: Listen and read.(19’) - Ask Ss to look at the picture on page and answer the questions. - Play the recording . Ss listen and underline the newwords. T writes the newwords on the board. - Ask Ss to practice the newwords, and pay attention to the pronunciation. - T shows each word and Ss read inchorus first, then call some ss read the words again. 1a)- Ss work independently. Find a word/ phrase that mens.Allow them to share their answers with their partners before discussing as a class. - One student goes to the board and writes. - Checking with the whole class. 1b)- T asks all of the Ss in the class to work in pairs, one asks and one answers. - 2 Ss go to the board and write the answers. - Have Ss read the sentences quickly to make sure they understand them. * Activity 2: 2.There are different types of pollution, write each type under a picture.(5’) - Check and correct their pronunciation. - Ss work individually to do the task, and write their answers in their notebook. - T check the answers * Activity 3: 3.Complete the sentences with the types of pollution.(8’) - Ss do this activities individually and thenn compare their answers with a classmate . - Call on some Ss to stand up and give their answers 4. Production.(5’) - ask some ss to talk about the serious pollution problems in his/her area and how to solve them. - Guides the way to do - Ss share ideas and other Ss comment and T gives feedback. 5. Home work. (3’) - Learn by heart the newwords, and check the pronunciation of these words:. - List out the environmental problems in their area. - Prepare A closer look 1: Prepare newword, plan to do exerices given. 1. Listen and read. What can you see in the picture ? - Mi and Nick are talking about polution - The things which cause pollution Cars,factories,cows */ New words. - believe - poison - aquatic - bless - sneeze - illustrate - to come up with ( nghĩ ra) a.find a word.phrase that means: Key: 1.dead 2.aquatic 3.dump 4.poison 5. polluted 6. to come up with b.
